Jamie Moffat

Hi, I'm Jamie...

Feeling sad, anxious, or overwhelmed? You’re not alone — support is here.

Life can sometimes feel troubling. You might be struggling to cope, feeling lost, upset, fearful, or unsure about your emotions. These experiences are normal, and many people seek counselling at times like this — you don’t have to face them alone.

I provide online counselling in the UK and face-to-face counselling in Manchester City Centre, offering a safe, calm, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement. As a qualified counsellor, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or challenges in your relationships, counselling can help you feel seen, understood, and supported. Together, we can work on understanding what you’re going through and finding ways to navigate life’s difficulties with greater clarity and resilience.

Now is the right time to reach out and take that first step towards professional counselling support — you don’t have to wait.

About me...

I’m an accredited therapist and qualified counsellorwith a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling, offering support in Manchester City Centre and online across the UK. I provide a safe, calm, and confidential space where you can explore difficult thoughts and emotions at your own pace, with empathy and without judgment.

Inclusive and Accepting Counselling and Therapy

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand what it can feel like to live outside of what society often defines as “normal.” I aim to offer an inclusive and accepting therapeutic space for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, grounded in respect, sensitivity, and understanding.

My Approach...

I believe a secure therapeutic space is essential for processing trauma, childhood experiences, and overwhelming emotions. I’m particularly passionate about helping people:

  • Heal from childhood trauma
  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Strengthen relationships with themselves and others

How I Can Help

I welcome clients from all walks of life and provide online counselling across the UK as well as face-to-face counselling in Manchester City Centre. Whatever challenges you’re facing — whether anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or relationship difficulties — I’m here to support you on your healing journey.

More About Me

I aim to create a warm, inclusive environment where you feel understood and supported. Every person’s experience is unique, and I work collaboratively to help you develop resilience, self-awareness, and emotional wellbeing.

About Counselling...

Counselling can help you better understand yourself, process difficult emotions, and feel less alone. I offer professional counselling in a supportive, confidential space where you can talk openly and at your own pace.

I work as an integrated therapist, drawing on multiple theories to tailor therapy to each individual. At the heart of my practice is the person-centred approach, emphasising empathy, understanding, and unconditional acceptance.

I also integrate psychodynamic, transactional analysis, and compassion-focused approaches to explore how past experiences and relational patterns shape current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, supporting clients to respond to themselves and their experiences with greater kindness and self-compassion.

I can support you with:

  • Understanding difficult and uncomfortable emotions
  • Exploring experiences and gaining clarity or closure
  • Creating, maintaining, and understanding your relationships
  • Support for anxiety, depression, grief, and emotional challenges
  • Gender identity and sexuality
  • Building self-confidence, self-worth, and self-acceptance
  • Developing healthy boundaries and effective self-care

Counselling offers you the opportunity to feel heard, understood, and supported as you work towards greater emotional wellbeing and resilience.

So What Happens Next?

Starting counselling can feel like a big step. My aim is to help you feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout the process, whether you choose online counselling in the UK or face-to-face counselling in Manchester City Centre.

1. Get in touch

You’re welcome to contact me to check availability, ask any questions, or arrange a free 15-minute introductory call. I aim to reply to enquiries within 24 hours on weekdays.

2. Practical details

If we decide to go ahead, I’ll send you some brief paperwork and confirm the practical details. For online sessions, this includes a Microsoft Teams link; for face-to-face sessions, I’ll share location information. The paperwork is straightforward and helps me understand a little about what’s brought you to counselling.

3. Your first session

In our first session, we’ll go through confidentiality and the counselling agreement, then spend time exploring what’s been happening for you and what you’re hoping for from counselling. There’s no pressure to know exactly what to say — we’ll take things at your pace.

At the end of the session, you can decide whether you’d like to continue and book further sessions if it feels right for you.
